We are currently seeking students in an environmental curriculum to fill an internship in the Environment,  Health,  and Safety Department (EH&S)  at our Thomas Hill Energy Center in Clifton Hill,  Missouri.  This is a paid internship that offers employment during summer 2021.  Normal working days are Monday through Friday.  You could also potentially receive course credit while working at AECI!  Contact your school’s career center for more information.


As part of the Environmental,  Health,  and Safety Department (EH&S),  these positions may include the following areas:

  • Assist in the development of air emissions tracking and compliance programs 
  • Update environmental compliance and procedure documents
  • EH&S website maintenance and SharePoint development
  • Manipulation and analysis of large data sets using proprietary software and Microsoft products
  • SPCC (Spill Prevention,  Control,  and Countermeasure)  inspections


Qualified applicants will be currently enrolled in an environmental science,  computer science,  biology,  chemistry,  or a related applied science field,  and have successfully completed two (2)  years of work towards a bachelor’s degree.  We are seeking an individual with strong computer skills,  excellent written and verbal communication skills,  with a strong statistical and analytical background.  Experience in Microsoft SharePoint is desired.  Headquarters intern will travel to plants for work assignments,  As with any position,  attendance and being on time is an important requirement.
