The Warrensburg Chamber of Commerce helps to create opportunities that drive commerce and promote business.  They are a community that supports business,  values education,  and empowers leaders.


The Communication and Public Relations Intern will work as the assistant to the Executive Director,  Communications Coordinator,  Member Relations Coordinator,  and Office Manager with specific projects to maintain,  for the duration of the internship period.   It is anticipated that the intern will continuously work as a team member also assisting office staff on an as-needed basis in relation to communication,  marketing,  member support,  event planning,  and other duties assigned.   The expectations of the intern are to conduct themselves in a professional manner which includes confidentiality of member information.   While it is preferable for the candidate to work on-site,  working remotely may also be an option but the selected candidate must have a computer,  access to the internet,  and the ability to download specific industry programs or software.

  1. The web site and calendar maintained by the Chamber of Commerce are in constant need of updating.   The Communication/Public Relations Intern will update the web site on an as-needed basis.   The web address is
  1. The Communication/Public Relations Intern will assist in posts,  graphics,  flyers,  etc.  as required.
  1. The Chamber of Commerce uses several social media sites to share information.   The Communication/Public Relations Intern will stay on top of current trends with Instagram and Twitter and offer suggestions on how to increase traffic at these sites,  as well as increase engagement with UCM.
  1. The twice-monthly Chamber Flash e-newsletter to our members updating them on events,  activities,  and Chamber news.   The Communication Intern is responsible for assisting with the production of this publication and must adhere to the completion deadline.
  1. Use video to obtain speaker highlights and testimonials to use on the Warrensburg Chamber of Commerce’s YouTube account.
  1. Work with the Young Professional group to increase awareness and attendance to events.
