The purpose of the Technical Process Intern is to implement new technologies in the molded foam production facility with support from the Corporate Molded Technical Manager.   Utilize your technical background to collect and analyze data,  and prepare reports related to the technologies.   Provide weekly progress reports of projects to be presented to the project team.

Responsibilities

-  Lead the implementation of new technologies with the support of the Corporate Technical Managers and Facility Process Managers.   This will include daily tracking,  recording,  monitoring and interpretation of data from key plant processes.   Report any variation to the Process Manager and Technical Manager.

-   Work with the Corporate Technical Managers and Facility Process Teams to lead trials which have direct impact on improving product quality and manufacturing productivity.

-   Assist in the implementation and monitoring of the Woodbridge Production System (Lean Manufacturing)  initiatives for the technology team while at the facility.   This will include collecting data,  monitoring and auditing of Key Process Indicators.

Qualifications

-   Pursuing a Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical,  Mechanical,  Electrical or other)  of Bachelor of Science -  Chemistry major.

-   Able to work full time or part time for multiple semesters.

-  Occasional shift and weekend work may be required.

-   Strong data aptitude with the ability to create analytical reports.

-   Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.

-   Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

-   Knowledge and experience in operating MiniTab,  SPC are assets.

-  Proficient in excel,  macros and/or SQL database experiences is an asset.
