Job Location: This position is with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources,  Missouri Geological Survey,  and will be located at 111 Fairgrounds Road,  Rolla,  MO    65401.

As a geology intern with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources’  Missouri Geological Survey you will be assist in protecting Missouri’s underground sources of drinking water through the Underground Injection Control (UIC)  Program.  You will support the core values of the Geological Survey Program which include Technical Competency,  Service,  Professionalism,  Ingenuity,  and Cooperation and the mission and values of the Division and Department.

Responsibilities

What you’ll do:

  • Scanning documents
  • Database clean-up
  • Investigative research of UIC Class V wells
  • Verification of well status and well type
  • Identification and migration preparation of UIC Class II water wells
  • Identification and migration preparation of UIC Class II stratigraphic test wells
  • Possible field investigation and confirmation of UIC wells

Professional Experience to be Gained:

  • Investigative research
  • Knowledge of Missouri’s hydrology and geology
  • Characteristics of Missouri’s underground sources of drinking water
