General Summary:Assigned to job duties to assist the District Bridge Engineer,  ranging from design technician to survey technician,  basedon level of education and summer job experience.

Examples of Work:

•Assists with safety inspections of state owned bridges and prepares written reports of the conditions of the structure.

•Assists with in-depth bridge inspections of all major river bridges using under-bridge inspection equipments.

•Records in the transportation management system bridge inspection database structure ratings and degrees ofdeterioration of all state bridges and culverts.

•Creates and updates bridge and culvert location maps.

•Performs other responsibilities as required or assigned.


Minimum/Required Qualifications:  Must be enrolled in a civil engineering program at an accredited college or university with completion of freshman year(normally 30 semester hours)  and over all GPA of 2.0 out of 4.0.

Supervisory Responsibilities:  None
