This is seasonal,  non-benefit eligible position,  working up to 1,039 hours.

General Summary:Assigned to job duties ranging from assistant materials technician to senior materials technician based on level ofeducation and summer job experience.

Special Working Conditions/Job Characteristics:Job requires frequent travel within the district.

Examples of Work:

•Assists in inspection of bituminous plants and/or base,  stock piled aggregates.

•Maintains records and prepares reports pertaining to inspections;  keeps supervisor informed of activities or unusualconditions;  ensures projects meet department standards.

•Enters and records information regarding materials inspection into computer programs.

•Performs basic materials testing such as aggregate gradation,  moisture,  and asphalt density tests;  reports results tosupervisor.

•Performs other responsibilities as required or assigned.


Minimum/Required Qualifications:Must be enrolled in a civil engineering program at an accredit college or university with completion of freshman year(normally 30 semester hours)  and an overall GPA of 2.0 out of 4.0
