Description

The Domestic and International Marketing intern will have the opportunity to work with the program manager and five marketing specialists,  learning about Missouri’s food and beverage,  forest products,  livestock and genetics,  grain,  feed and pet food industries as well as the ins and outs of domestic and international trade. 

Responsibilities

Responsbilities:

Assist with planning and preparation of trade activities,  including buyer’s missions,  trade missions,  trade shows,  seminars and more.
Recruiting companies for trade activities via phone and email
Traveling with marketing specialists on company visits to learn more about Missouri’s diverse agriculture industries.
Designing aspects of the program newsletter.
Writing Show-Me Agriculture stories for the website.
Conducting market research for trade activities and Missouri companies.
Utilizing trade and membership databases.
Update/maintain the Department and Food Export’s database of food and agricultural suppliers. 
Assist with recruitment for the Department and Food Export’s events and programs.
Attend conference calls and internet training sessions as needed.
Submit a weekly report to the Marketing Program and a monthly activity/progress report.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Full time collegee   student (Freshman through Senior)  preferably persuing a degree in Agriculture,  Journalism,  Business or Marketing related field.  Preferred GPA of 3.0 or higher and in good academic standing.

Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook,  Excel and Word as well as Adobe software.  Be willing to travel as needed to assigned areas (state vehicle provided).
