POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a self-motivated and detail-oriented Specialty Servicing Intern to join our team. This internship offers hands-on experience in supporting the daily operations of a dynamic communications department. The ideal candidate will assist with organizing and cataloging inventory, capturing and documenting project details, and contributing to special assignments that support internal and external communications efforts.

JOB DETAILS:

  • Durations and Hours: This part-time, 8-week internship, requires approximately 20 hours per week, with flexible work hours scheduled within regular business hours. Start date and term length are flexible but are expected to be within the Summer 2025 semester, with a flexible start date in June or July 2025.
  • Compensation: This is a non-exempt position with an hourly rate of $15 per hour. If your academic institution allows you to receive course credit for internship experiences, you must coordinate credit requirements directly with your college or university and communicate to the Foundation any employer requirements (such as supervisory assessments) your institution requires for course credit.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organization: Assist in organizing, cataloging, and maintaining communications inventory (e.g., promotional materials, branded assets, etc.).
  • Project management: Support the documentation of project details including timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder feedback.
  • Collateral management: Help maintain accurate internal databases (e.g., SharePoint) and digital asset management systems.
  • Content creation: Leverage simplification methodology to refine/enhance customer messaging.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with team members to ensure consistent messaging and branding across platforms. Attend team meetings and contribute ideas to improve processes and engagement.
  • Research: Conduct research to support communications strategies and initiatives.
  • Other administrative duties as assigned.

 

Learning Opportunities:

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Candidates must reside in Missouri.
  • Enrollment in an accredited Missouri college or university in an undergraduate program in communications, marketing, public relations, business, project management, or a related field.
  • Ability to work from Columbia, MO or Chesterfield, MO office.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with project management tools or leading projects.
  • Familiarity with digital asset management systems (e.g., SharePoint).
  • Basic knowledge of graphic design or content creation tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus.
  • Basic data analysis and Excel skills (experience of data visualization tools a plus).
