Job Location: This position is with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Division of Environmental Quality, Southeast Regional Office, and will be located at 2155 N. Westwood Blvd., Poplar Bluff, MO 63901.

This position will be assisting the Southeast Regional Office in the Water Protection Program.  We protect environmental quality in Southeast Missouri helping citizens and organizations use our natural resources responsibly for the benefit of all Missourians.

Responsibilities

What you’ll do:

  • Update the Water Protection Program’s electronic databases for drinking water and wastewater system inventories
  • Provide lab assistance
  • Update Material Safety Data records
  • Assist with drinking water and wastewater field inspections, water and wastewater sampling, and special projects
  • Assist in various areas of the Engineering Unit
  • Obtain GPS coordinates
  • Contact facilities to promote upcoming trainings and DNR projects

Qualifications

Professional Experience to be Gained:

  • Experience in working with a governmental agency

All you need for success:

  • Undergraduate or Graduate in a science major
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Access)
  • Ability to meet and interact with the public in a professional manner
  • Ability to perform moderate lifting, bending, work in outside environment
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
