Hourly Rate: $17.77

Duration of Assignment: May to August 2024

Job Location: This position is with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Division of Environmental Quality, Environmental Remediation Program, and will be located at 1730 East Elm Street, Jefferson City, MO 65101.

You will be assisting the Environmental Remediation Program with a variety of duties related to inspections of orphaned tanks, abandoned releases, and out of use tanks.

 

Responsibilities

What you’ll do:

  • Conduct inspections of orphaned tanks and abandoned releases
  • Conduct out-of-use inspections
  • Review remediation reports

Qualifications

Professional Experience to be Gained:

  • Creating inspection reports and maps of sites
  • Reviewing remediation reports and drafting correspondence
  • Knowledge of the Department’s inspection procedures
  • Knowledge of the Missouri Risk Based Corrective Action Process
  • Ability to take raw data and convert to usable statistics

All you need for success:

  • Degree or seeking a degree in Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Protection or similar field
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with regulated entities and team members
  • Ability to traverse uneven, rough, or difficult terrain
