Job Location: This position is with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources,  Division of Environmental Quality,  and will be located at the Southwest Regional Office,  2040 W.  Woodland,  Springfield.

The Department of Natural Resources protects our natural resources,  which includes ensuring the residents of Missouri have access to safe and clean water.  You will visit a number of facilities in the Southwest Region providing guidance and conducting evaluations at regulated industrial stormwater facilities.  You will also interact with others in the office to obtain an understanding of everything the Department does.  You will work both independently and with a group.


  • Provide compliance assistance both through field assessments or phone contact with facilities operating under a No Exposure Certification
  • Assist facilities with returning to compliance with any stormwater deficiencies as noted in the evaluations
  • Assist other Water Pollution Section staff with routine facility inspections and investigations


  • Degree in (or seeking)  biology,  chemistry,  environmental protection or similar related fields
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with regulated entities and team members
  • Ability to traverse uneven,  rough or difficult terrain
  • Ability to travel,  operate a motor vehicle and maintain a valid operator’s license.
  • Ability to work in the field in a variety of weather conditions
